This butter dish is perfect for keeping butter on the counter, making it soft and easy to spread while still being eco-friendly. I can almost guarantee that 100% of the reviews will complain about the lid not fitting because the lid gasket was upside down. It appears that some of these cookware leave the factory with the gasket installed upside down. We've had this issue, but after removing the gasket, flipping the lid over and putting it back on works great. The lid seal has two lugs for sealing. One of them is located right on the edge of the gasket, and the other at a small distance from the other edge of the gasket. Make sure there is vertical clearance between the bottom of the cover and the first tab on the gasket for a better fit. Conversely, the gasket does not seat in the container and gets caught between the lid and the rim of the container, resulting in a poor fit. A little oil can also lubricate it, making it easier to fit in a dry container than a dry gasket.
