Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are good for LED bulbs

I tried the Senled Bluetooth bulb and this Senled WiFi bulb with Alexa. WiFi lamps are much cheaper. Both ultimately work well and seamlessly with Alexa, at least in my simple light bulb setup in rooms with nearby Echo and strong Wi-Fi. The Bluetooth lamp is easy to set up. Screw it in, tell Alexa to discover new devices, and bam, you're done. This particular bulb also has a color changing feature which is fun and useful as you can not only change the colors in the spectrum but also adjust the color temperature of the white light. I recommend this lamp, A19 E26 dimmable multicolor LED bulb. This lamp, the WiFi version, is more difficult to set up. You need to download the application and register an account. Then grant the app various permissions before you can use it. Your Alexa must have the Senled skill enabled. You can then set up the lightbulb in the app, which is easy but redundant if you want to control the light solely through Alexa. You've already set up your rooms, zones, scenes or whatever with Alexa, so why would you do it again for Senled? But you can do it. But once you're comfortable with something like this, it's easy enough, and when you're done, the lightbulb will work with Alexa just like your others. The 60W equivalent light is as bright as you'd expect, and a nice soft white that's pretty standard for indoor lighting. Of course, another downside to the WiFi model is that your WiFi needs to work, but so do systems. that use external hubs, so it's unlikely to matter much. But Bluetooth just needs your Echo to be on, even if Wi-Fi isn't working. IMO, the one-time setup effort is well worth it for the much lower cost, and of course, adding more WiFi bulbs is a lot easier since you've already done the work. Bottom line: It's great that you can achieve voice-controlled lighting so easily and cheaply using your Echo and these fairly cheap smart bulbs.
