Works without the need to install a driver on modern Linux distributions. Tested on Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 20.10, Linux Mint 20.1. Manjaro and Raspberry Pi OS. The version I bought without the CD is a multi-state device, but the Linux utility usb_modeswitch is active on most modern Linux distributions and automatically puts the adapter directly into wireless adapter mode. Currently, the Raspberry Pi operating system needs updated data files for usb_modeswitch to work automatically. All in all, this is a decent adapter. I get good service through 2 walls, over 50 feet. Uses Mediatek mt7612u chipset. The driver for this chipset is supported by the Linux kernel and is of good quality.
