Review on 🎢 Nobsound Little Bear T11: High-Fidelity Vacuum Tube Phono Turntable Preamplifier for LP Vinyl Records by Eric Cortes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Poorly soldered, big distortion, waste of money

Wanted to like it, but even with modernized Russian tubes and high-quality connecting cables the sound was still not acceptable for such a price. The low bass was very weak, but was improved somewhat with Russian tubes. Connections improved the sound slightly. But what really annoyed me was the hissing distortion, which I attributed to the pickup/downforce. So I upgraded the pickup so that it doesn't affect the noise distortion. that all the distortions were in Little Bear. I took apart the little bear (because I had ordered some high-end Japanese capacitors) and found that the soldering was so bad that it failed my high school's elementary electronics course. The quality was amazingly amateurish with a few cold solder joints (for those of you who don't know what that is, the cold solder joint is incomplete and introduces distortion into the component). Upgrades cost about $300, add that to $220 and that's over $500 wasted. This has to be the worst purchase I've made from Revain to date.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
