Great tongs for feeding small pet reptiles!

These Zoo Med 10" Stainless Steel Feeding Tongs are perfect for feeding small pet reptiles like my bearded dragons. When held properly, they extend your reach by about 6-7 inches, allowing you to keep a safe distance from your pet's mouth (if he/she is an "overeager" eater who tends to bite their fingers ) and decrease the pet's intimidation factor (if he/she isn't used to your hands yet and avoids your reach). Bugs if you don't like the feeling of touching insectivores with your hands My bearded dragon never bites and I'm not shy about handling bugs, mustard greens, dead bugs or anything else. It's a lot easier than trying to reach the end by hand, which tends to scare my dragon who's still adjusting to its new home/owner. If you're looking for well-made, comfortable serving tongs, I highly recommend these. [UPDATE 1-9-2017: This turned out to be a great buy. My bearded dragon has learned that pincers mean feeding time so I can use them to get him to try new foods that he wouldn't otherwise recognize as food. For example, I once put some sliced blueberries in his cage as treats, but he never touched them. A few days later I tried again but I used pliers. Since I use tongs from time to time to feed him crickets, roaches, and superworms, he knows there are usually treats at the end of the tongs, so when I offered her that, he immediately sampled and ate the blueberries. Pretty neat.]
