Very neat serving tray. I use it to keep my cooking oils, vinegar, and hot sauces from settling right on the granite counter and it does the job, although it looks pretty neat. There are four wooden legs that are sanded smooth and raise the tray about 1/2 inch above the surface it is resting on. The surface is also smooth and sanded, although the bark has a fairly precise rough texture on the outside (it's real wood, so no surprise). I was a little sad when it arrived because some of the bark fell off and fell off when I touched it, but it turned out to be an easy fix with wood glue (you can see the gap where the crack appeared up close).
