Great product blew me away

This thing is awesome. I use it with Kali Linux on my Raspberry Pi 3 and dual boot on my high end desktop/laptop and on all three machines this thing runs within 20% or so of my $40 Alfa and it runs within 30% or so of my $60 Alfa and honestly I expected it to perform about as well as a turtle on a drag strip and I bought it just for the antenna but I am very glad it took the time to get the firmware right. Please don't tell me this is the case. It doesn't work if you don't have time to work on the firmware, it needs to be done right. To be honest, if you have a relatively good knowledge of Linux you can easily set this thing up, you don't even need to know any code, you just need to know how to install packages and you know what to do when the Firmware package not enough, look for firmware packages that may not be directly related to the product you want to use it on but indirectly, for example I had to install two different WiFi firmwares to get the internal WiFi that this one Thing is working properly, I don't know why but I just found out. In any case, I tend to think that when the Alpha connects with someone to do it, that's what you're paying for (and if you're a professional penetration tester and you're doing it for a living, then of course it's absolutely no substitute for Alpha No question, but for the average Joe consumer, why spend so much money for $60 or so on an Alpha when you can get this thing for under $20 and it does 80-70% of what you do had to do a professional way). BTW I paid for it, no one gave me anything, I just bought it on a whim late one night, I almost never leave really good reviews like this so I figured I'd just let everyone know.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Nothing here
