So I had snap ring pliers meant for small sets but I have been making ball joints that require the ring (outer) to be opened and a 2 inch ring to to remove it (if you don't have the old horseshoe style, hammer in and out), but the new pieces come with new rings and fit tighter and wider than the old ones. I bought a slightly larger pair that had the top rotating rings ok but not the bottom ones so I went BIG and bought them. The fact that they are ratchets, as well as the long handles and wide jaw allowed me to handle these bottom snap rings with ease. The length of the handle certainly helps with leverage BUT it depends on what you are working on and where/how you might get in the way. That's the only problem so far.
