The clear (non-floating) model usually lasts a year or two with regular use, but the soft/floating version didn't work on my first sailboat outing. As always, the phone came in an Otterbox Deferder case (soft rubber). The edge stitching directly on either side of the iPhone had small tears, although the calico was safely tucked inside my life jacket most of the time. I think the padding puts more pressure and stress on the seams. So far the touchscreen is working fine BUT none of the cases worked with Face ID on the iPhone 13 Pro. Calicase and other case manufacturers won't tell you that. In addition, the side buttons on the padded version can hardly be pressed. I still recommend the transparent case. It has the strongest cutout and plastic joint I've found. This way the phone is less likely to leave your body, even if it gets wet.
