Review on ๐Ÿšด SKS Velo 65 Trekking Front and Rear Snap-On Fender Set: Ideal for 26-Inch Bikes by Jeff Talcott

Fast installation, strong but flexible wings. Suitable for mountain bike 27.5.

Easy to install. I modified the rig to work with a 27.5 full suspension mountain bike. Installing the fenders literally took less than 10 minutes, including using zip ties to modify the rear fender to the frame mount and an extra zip tie to add support through the trunk. Please see photos of how I installed these fenders on a full suspension mountain bike. The front fender seemed to have enough material for it to fit snugly (it was a little tight due to the construction of the bike itself). Bend the metal part of the slider/latch. which helped with the fit. Now it fits well. Close. but good. The front fender felt a bit stronger and less flexible than the rear fender. The rear wing felt a little more pliable and therefore more responsive. There was no place to attach a metal bracket to the frame. So I used cable ties. Also, there was only a rubber grip to attach one of the plastic clips to the rear fender frame. So I took the o-ring out of the installation box and voila! Works beautifully for the top clip. I then used a couple of zip ties to loop around the fender and run it through the trunk to give the fender some extra support. It seemed to rock from side to side just by moving the bike. I was afraid that the stress from the dangling wing might cause it to break. So I added loop support with zippers. I could do better by drilling two small holes for the zip ties to fit through the fender. but it was decided not to do it. Let's see how they hold up cycling in Cambridge this winter. The bike is used for city riding. I'll update this post on how well they work.
