That's compression. MUST be tight.
I don't know why so many people complain about their small size. I don't think you understand what a COMPRESSION is. It should feel like a second skin. My height is 5 feet 9 inches. 160 pounds, waist 29-30 inches and chest about 42 inches. SMALL fits very well. Pretty tight, but not mandatory. The lower part of the forearm and wrist sag a little, only the hair on the outside is taut so you twist your arms, but the short wrist doesn't move with it. Plus they feel great.
