Review on Dell P2217H Professional LED Monitor - 21.5" Screen, Anti-Glare, 60Hz Refresh Rate by Yazid Taylor

I was very happy with this monitor when I first installed it. I bought it specifically to use in portrait mode with my MacBook Pro laptop and another external monitor. It was easy to set up and worked very well for about a week. A week later the monitor went very dark. The monitor was recognized by the computer and I could only see one screen, but it was an incredibly faint "ghosting" that was only visible from certain angles. I've tried replacing all the cables etc but nothing has solved the problem. After reading online I tried disabling the video input and just turning on the monitor to see if I could view the initial configuration screen, but the monitor screen still showed nothing. When this was the case, online threads on the Dell support forums always recommended returning the monitor. It's possible it was just evil. Based on my very positive first impressions, I ordered a replacement and contacted Revain for a refund on my original purchase. I'll update this thread and check with the refund request results and set up the new monitor when it arrives. So far my experience is rather poor, but I'm optimistic that the new block will solve the problems. TO UPDATE. The replacement monitor I ordered arrived on time and the installation went smoothly. When delivered, the second monitor was significantly brighter than the first monitor. I've had the monitor for a week and it works perfectly. I am even happier with the quality of this monitor than the first one and I quite liked the first one until it stopped working. I have no problem giving this new monitor 5 stars. My return was processed quickly with no issues or questions. I've updated my recommendation from 2 to 5. I considered deducting a star for the hassle factor but figured fast customer service, no returns and a great working replacement would warrant a 5 star rating and recognition for their customer service. The system quickly met all my needs and I got the product I was hoping for.
