I think everything is fine. It's actually a little disappointing because for the most part this piece is great, especially for the price. The mountain is fantastic. It has a large suction cup and the swivel is easy to adjust. The problem is the bit holding the phone. On what I got, the retractable levers have issues. They are linked by a set of internal gears that offer some resistance, causing the levers to slowly retract. However, somehow the gears can slip so that the right hand is fully engaged while the left hand is not, making them impossible to fully engage. I actually took mine apart and reassembled it which fixed the problem but it happened again. If you are very careful you can avoid this, but you don't have to be very careful. Also, the part that folds down to hold the bottom of the phone is useless to me when I want the phone to be plugged in as the notch isn't big enough to fit the connector. YMMV with that. Mine may be defective, but when I take it apart I see that none of the parts are broken or frayed, so I have to assume that my problems with this model are not uncommon. Overall it's ok for the price.
