Review on πŸ”§ Efficiently Install Bushing Transmission Bearings with OrionMotorTech's Installer Tool by Aaron Shaw

Revainrating 4 out of 5

good goods; Suitcase - no.

I give this product 4 stars for the strength of the product itself and the hassle free replacement by Revain. Had it not been for this it would have given a 3 star rating due to the poor quality of the tote bag. See review content below. There are several sellers on Revain that offer similar products. I chose OrionMotorTech because their carrying case has retractable latches (similar in design to the case on my Porter Cable finishing nailer). However, the reviews for all products of this type from all the sellers I looked at had the theme: damaged covers upon delivery. In particular they were not damaged in transit by Revain (e.g. UPS, FedEx etc) but were likely damaged at the factory as the case was usually quite badly torn although the factory box it was packaged in was usually in good condition condition was . At least in my case, I believe the problem really stems from the quality of the plastic itself. Usually the blown plastic case is made of HDPE, it is beautiful, thick and durable. This isn't about this case (pun intended). It's made of some kind of recycled plastic, thin and fragile. In addition, it is undoubtedly prone to damage from the weight of the items inside. The first set I ordered came in a rather crumpled suitcase. The outer shell of the suitcase had a large dent and tear, the contents were scattered, and there was a large tear inside the suitcase. I asked for a replacement which arrived a few days later. It also had hull damage, but it was just a small dent. Given the poor quality of the plastic, I'll probably add my own dents over the years, so I'll just leave it at that. Now, as for the bushing kit itself, I found it well made and happy with it. The sockets are well made, with nice beveled edges and center holes. I've used it several times on my hydraulic press and it works great. I have pressed/installed front hubs and bearings on a Toyota Avalon and this bushing kit made it very easy. Carrying case (quality I'd happily pay for) they would have a real winner and seller and Revain wouldn't have to deal with a lot of returns/replacements due to damage.
