Review on πŸšͺ Lomota Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener Remote with Tuya Smart Life APP Control, Compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, No Hub Required for Hassle-Free Setup by Chris Santos

Relatively easy installation (Smart Life App)

Update 4/11: If you're using the Smart Life app and go to the Smart tab, you can set up tap-to-run automation. I installed one to open the garage door and one to close the garage door. Then it can be done with one click and no need to press two buttons. ********** It took about an hour and most of the time I went through everything and made sure I knew what needed to be done before beginning the installation. You see some feedback about how bad the instructions are, but I disagree. They knew how to set it up before installation and what to do. I have multiple smart switches, plugs and lightbulbs controlled by the Smart Life app. After doing that, I proceeded to install the sensor and controller. They are unable to provide detailed instructions on how to connect to your garage door opener as there are so many different makes and models. too short. Revain reviews and photos will help! So I took some photos, maybe they will be useful for someone else. In the first photo you can see that I screwed the sensor to the garage frame at the top of the door (I made sure the door didn't touch it when it was up). I then attached the magnet to the top of the door itself with the sticky foam they provided. I routed the cable up to the ceiling and then through it to the motor. I used inexpensive cable mounts. Then he turned on the power. I used cable ties to secure the interface to the motor. Instead I think I'll go with velcro. In the second photo, I've circled where I connected the interface cables. Now everything works! The interface behaves like a wired wall button. If you activate it in the Smart Life app, it will send a signal to open the garage door. If the magnet and sensor move apart, the interface sends a signal and you will receive a notification in the app that the door is open. Likewise when closing the door. This replaced the dying keyboard (second time). I use the keypad every day because I ride my bike to work, so I don't have a car remote to open the door. I love that I'm notified when the door opens and closes and can check where I am on the door if necessary. I'm not using Alexa or Google integration. There is an Apple Watch Smart Life app. If I ever do, I'll post a follow-up to this review.

Pros
  • Voice Control: Work with Alexa and Google Assistant, use simple voice commands to open and close your garage door with little effort, especially when your hands are full.
Cons
  • Quality
