Review on Leather Stamping Carving Working Leathercraft by Kristen Reid

Excellent Quality

Just received, it's surprisingly excellent quality for the price, although unfortunately almost no information is given in the product description. : blocks = 10x8mm. Letters/numbers themselves = 4.5 x 3.5 mm and depth 0.5 mm Rotary knife: 90 degrees from the tip. Blade to the base of the "U", expanding from 7cm to 8.2cm Picks: pencil thin (in diameter) and 12.7cm tip to tip I mentioned earlier. For a layman like me, this set should suffice. The hammer is solid and the wood and metal look great. The swivel is of the same excellent quality and most importantly the knife was delivered well sharpened! The build quality of the letters is excellent, although I'd make sure you line them up carefully as the input doesn't seem entirely consistent. I haven't had it before so I can't say for sure. In my opinion, however, I would like the depth of the letters/numbers to be a bit longer so that I don't have to worry so much about the blocks imprinting on the skin when stamping. I'm probably just spoiled from work. with a different pick style but my previous pick has a blunt tip and spoon on the other side and is about twice the size of the ones in this set. The reason I'm complaining is because, as a man with average hands, I find myself cramping with it after a short time. The more I think about it, the more the letter/number set bothers me. A minor thing, but the typing for number 2 seems a bit strange to me, although it's more of a font issue than a quality issue. Overall: Worth buying given the current price of $32.

Would like stamps to be more raised so they show up better.
