We really liked this appliance. It roasts evenly on every setting I've tried. 2-3 get a nice light toast (like I would use for a sandwich). The maximum setting of 6 gives crispy English muffins. What I also really like is that the level of browning on the toast is repeatable: I use 6 on my English muffins every morning and they come out almost the same every morning. bread that is frozen. My wife often freezes her specialty gluten free bread and the thawing routine seems to work for her. Strong. I can recommend this block without hesitation.
