I'm a little disappointed, the spirals and other 3D straws look very fun. I bought these as Christmas stockings this year and the kids will have a blast with the ones I got. They are very durable and will last a long time if not washed in the dishwasher. As far as I remember the ones I had as a kid were the same - warped in the dishwasher. The opening is narrow and you need to pull on the straw with moderate force to get your drink out, so your kids probably won't experience that hilarious "quick straw kickback with coughing, gagging, then milk snot ricochet." we have done everything So I'm not worried about giving them to my four year old nephew. While blown milk bubbles are probably more difficult to make, I don't know, I haven't tried it yet. I noticed that with a certain straw design the loop would run deep at the straw and be below the surface in a jar, no point putting a bunch of these through the straw hole in the lid, the straight length is short too. Overall I'm happy with the design I received. The photo currently attached to the item labeled "12 Crazy Loop Straws" is exactly what I received.
