We purchased this wet foam filter for our new 16 gallon WORKSHOP WS1600VA wet/dry vacuum which comes with a regular paper filter and no wet filter. dark foam that prevents water from entering the fan when vacuuming. We've used it to lift water off the floor and suck a lot of water out of a wool rug after cleaning dog urine after saturating the area with water. The filter comes with no instructions so I was confused at first. how to remove old ones Ultimately, it was the simplicity itself. There are two protrusions on opposite sides of the bottom of the filter and what looks like a hard plastic handle in the middle. Simply pull the rubber tabs and squeeze the lever handle and the filter will pop out. And you do the same thing in reverse to snap the new one in place. This vacuum cleaner has enough power to suck up water. The wet nozzle is a bit like a mop and works really well on hard floors and carpets. The carpet was only damp after I used the vacuum, which was better than I had hoped. I would have liked a wet filter that came with the vacuum cleaner. But then the vacuum cleaner itself was cheaper than the competition, although by buying a filter you more or less make up the difference in price. Overall this is a good filter and the only complaint I have is the lack of instructions.
