So we had a friend who stayed at our house for a month while moving or changing jobs and asked us why we didn't have a toaster. You see, we haven't had a single toaster in our house for 10 years. Why? Who knows, we just never needed it. We only used the oven. Well this question made me search Amazon for a good cheap toaster and I came across this little beauty. For someone who hasn't had a toaster in over a decade, I was really hoping to find something that would interest me and encourage me to "buy a toaster," and it certainly fit the bill. I had no trouble with this guy's "toaster" part. Turn it on, insert the toast, slide the handle down, wait a little and phew is a great toast. As expected. There are no issues with desired spiciness or cooking settings for the toaster. It's a toaster, it makes toast. Enough said. I think by reading the reviews you are trying to figure out the whole poaching thing. Well it works great. We love our scrambled egg muffin sandwiches so we crack open a raw egg, put it in the egg thingy, dip the toast and in about 4-5 minutes you have a great egg muffin sandwich. The first few times I made them I cracked the egg in an egg tray but it was a bit flat so I was afraid of spilling the egg on the stove. Now I honestly just whip it up in a mug and dilute it. You don't really have to do this, but it makes me feel better. Eggs will be cooked based on how much water you poured on the bottom of the egg cooker. . More water = more well-done eggs. Since we love scrambled eggs, the goal is that it's not runny. The kit includes a measuring cup marked with the recommended water level. I usually turn it to a higher poaching level and I've had no problems with them being runny. My brother poured a smaller amount of water and found that they can be a bit runny. So just keep an eye on the water level and you're good to go. used to poke holes in eggs when you hard boil them with this toaster. Yes, up to 4 eggs can be hard boiled at the same time. Obviously make a hole in the top of the egg to keep it from exploding during the cooking process. When I read this I immediately wanted to see if I could detonate them, but my wife wouldn't let me try. Please add your comments/photos to this review if you are able to pull off this feat! The layout of the egg cooker is quite simple. Below is a basin for the water you pour. Basically he cooks with steaming water. Therefore, the water level affects how well the eggs cook. As an added bonus, if you're making toast with eggs, it heats the toast the way you wanted it, then basically keeps it warm until the eggs are done so they pop when the eggs are done. Above the water basin is a tray for hard-boiled eggs. There are four places for eggs. Next comes the pan for poached eggs or scrambled eggs. In addition, there's a tray for pre-cooked meats (ham, bacon, salmon, whatever) and then the whole thing is topped with a clear cover to keep the steam inside. A suggestion. Don't forget to pam/don't spray the egg pan if you're poached/poached eggs. It really helps if you have it and can be a mess if you don't have it. All in all we love this item and have been using it almost daily since we placed our order for the past week and a half. I would order it again at any time and recommend it. In fact, I wish I had found it sooner.
