Connected directly to my 2013 Kia Optima. Works perfectly. There's plenty of extra cord if you need it to get pretty far out of the car. Installation was quick and easy. Pulling the panel out of the trunk of the car - that's the whole job. It only took about 1 minute to connect the wires to the vehicle's wiring harness after removing the trunk lining.
