I ordered this and the Spider safety devices. I found them difficult to cut carpets, you need a very sharp razor, scissors and lots of patience!. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to cut and install. They come with no instructions, I was able to identify the process from other photos, I will say that getting the "bottom flipped nail all the way under the rug and pulling it through" is VERY important. These things should absolutely not move. then as others have said they leave the floor mat about 0.25in, my floor mat was thick so your experience may vary, and YMMV.
