Review on π Starrett Precision Square 13MC by Joshua Flake
Good tool but not quite the old Starrett quality
I think 3 1/2 stars because I expected a little better fit and finish - this tool doesn't compare to the 20 year old Starrett -Quality . . However, head and shoulders above the cheaper brands. The lock is very positive and the etching seems to last a long time. This is their metric version and I was surprised at how Starrett drew the 2/3mm and 7/8mm marks higher than the individual millimeter marks but not as high as the 5mm mark. Maybe naivety on my part: maybe that's the industry standard. All in all I will buy Starrett again, but I don't mind paying a premium (10-20%) for old Starrett quality.
