Review on 🦈 Shark NV501 Rotator Professional Lift-Away Upright Vacuum: HEPA Filter, Swivel Steering, LED Headlights+ More! by Wendy Jackson

Broken strap, no options, Shark is not supported.

After 4 years of little use the main drive belt finally snapped. Belt replacement should be mandatory for any vacuum cleaner. On the Shark NV501, access to the belt is extremely difficult, there are several hidden screws (under the wheels, in deep holes), and when they're all unscrewed, the lower unit destabilizes and various parts separate, including the electrical wiring. The replacement belts for the "NV500 series" are generally too short (we are still looking for a dedicated belt for the NV501). Had called Shark support just to get the correct belt part number. Shark doesn't sell straps, Shark doesn't even have a part number, and warned that installing a strap other than Shark's will void the warranty, as Shark offers a replacement part - the entire bottom assembly for $83. Or the unit can be shipped to/from Shark at the customer's expense (approximately $100) for a replacement strap they claim they do not have. Update: I found the correct belt myself: Gates 231-3GT-6. This means: circumference = 231 mm; width = 6mm; Number of Teeth = 77, in Wakbel or Misumi. 10
