I bought this to collect botanical waxes, concretes, oils. A little Everclear or rubbing alcohol will quickly clean the instrument. I believe that would be the case as well if you were using this for other sticky things like splinters and the like. I've bought them from many types and brands because the tools have silicone grips. I'm very clumsy and randomly drop items, so I went with this one. In addition to the 3-piece tool set, the scope of delivery also includes a black silicone plate. I have no idea what it is but my guess is it needs to hold the wax and a small groove to hold the tool. I have photographed the set before use and in use. I inserted a black thing into the bottle that held my container of rose wax. I'm glad there are 3 tools in this set because some things need 2 tools, one to scoop and one to clean the other! This review is getting too long for such a simple topic. I will buy this set again simply because I love the silicone grips on the tools.
