I bought this leather to use as a hinge kit for a piece of wood that will be a door for a hidden closet shelf. The rest is used as a filling for metalworking or other crafts. These are skins! It cuts well and is soft. The coloring is very blotchy and these pieces appear to have marks and scars from when the beast was still breathing, but the pieces are sturdy and I don't see any nasty scratch marks. It looks like the manufacturer was careful NOT to treat these leftovers like garbage.
