I've wanted a potato slicer for soups, stews and fries for a long time. After reading the reviews I decided to try this one. I received the item on Friday, used it on Saturday where it broke after eating some potatoes, and am sending it back on Monday! The potato, when it went through the blades, was cut well, but after a few small potatoes, it didn't go through easily. Maybe there were too many potatoes for the skinny thing. I even trimmed the potatoes to fit better, some of the potatoes didn't go through and the blades fell out of the mesh. After the blades fell out, he was practically useless. Maybe it would work better with softer veggies, but it was an advertisement for potatoes and that's what I wanted them for! So here's the bottom line: it came with no recommendation, some potatoes, small, passed well, others didn't pass, after being used a few times, the blades fell out rendering it unusable and I'm sending it back for mine get money back. So buyers beware!
