Review on 🥾 Medium Brown Scrap Cowhide Leather 10" X 18" Piece with Beautiful Lace Detail - #L303 by Lori Aguirre

The first piece I received was slightly damaged. It had significant discoloration (not that good looking "natural" or "colorful" appearance that real leather tends to have) and a small dent that I was afraid would tear further, and unfortunately it was damage so big. This crowbar will not work for my purposes. (It also had a few scuffs, but no more than what would have happened with handling and would have happened when I first started using leather, so that didn't bother me.) I called the company and they did a lot responded quickly to fix the problem. . Excellent customer service. The second part was in excellent condition. Again some minor abrasions but nothing that affects the integrity of the product and I don't know if it isn't to be expected with real leather. The leather itself looks high quality. Admittedly I'm no leather expert but this was exactly what I was looking for: 5-6 oz weight (about 3mm thick), quite hard and thick. With both pieces, I was impressed by how evenly they were formed. I was concerned my patch might be deformed or something as it is a "patch" but from that point of view it was exactly as described. The skin is quite dark - rich warm tones, like auburn or burnt sienna, which I wasn't expecting. It looks a little lighter in the photos than it actually is and I would have liked it to be lighter/tan brown. At first I was wondering if I was accidentally sent the darker skin, but the second piece was also very dark. It's still beautiful, just darker than I expected. All in all a great experience. I would buy again. I'll try to post some photos later. For those wondering, I made this into a travel notebook (similar to Midori). In case you're wondering I used 1/16" elastic paracord. 1/16" Stretch Bungee Shock Cord Various colors in 10', 25', 50' and 100' options I think it was the perfect gauge of cord. I cut the leather with a disc cutter, which turned out to be pretty easy. I just had to push a little. However, it was extremely difficult to make holes large enough to thread the cord through as I don't have tools to work with leather and it is a thick and strong material. Oh, I finally got it right.
