A few years ago, my goal was to get rid of very expensive disposable razors, improve the quality of my shave and continue to explore opportunities to reduce carbon emissions. I read about DE razors and settled on the one advertised as the perfect first time razor. I've also read that blades are very individual, so I might have to try a few before I find the right one. The blade part was very correct: this one pulled hard, this one didn't seem to cut, and I was very frustrated in my attempt to save resources and money. I've tried many blades, tried this brand and that and never shaved, I was sure I had to get one. In fact, I could take my wife's disposable razor and shave better every time than with the much-vaunted DE razor and all those well-known blades. brush and shaving cream. God with disposable razors I could use my shampoo as a foam and have more fun than I had from the $45 DE but I tried this gel and foam and found a really good oil in a tiny bottle that is a very good gliding had whiskers. Better than before but still not as smooth as a disposable shampoo razor. My attempt to save resources and money seemed to fail... but I wasn't ready to give up just yet, so I started searching and reading more reviews and came across this razor, the Merkur 37C Slant Bar. I would say I'd rather start with this razor than stop here after years of trying this blade and that blade. my hand. It's a little heavy - short handle, heavy head - but when I use it, the balance works better than I expected every time I pick it up. The tilting head is quite strange as it pinches the blade, torments it, reshapes it, but the effects are very successful. I can use that oil I was talking about and this blade just keeps sliding; Gel, it slips. And even with the Personna blade-infused shampoo I chose as it works well with my beard, this razor just keeps gliding. And the shave is better than any 3 blade disposable razor and definitely better than my newbie DE razor. just as reliable as disposable floating blades, but the shave is much better. And even if I haven't saved any money (less than $7 a year compared to about $120 a year on supplies), using a lot less resources works best for my mind too. I wish I could start with this razor but I'm very glad I ended up here.
