Bought a used hard drive with unknown problem - good deal for the price

UPdate: Added pictures of the zip tie holding the power connector to the hard drive. This was a returned or damaged item, many clusters show as bad. In fact, almost the entire drive was difficult to see due to old deleted files that I recovered so I wouldn't be overwhelmed by any problem. I would like to thank the technician who did NOT zero the disk but simply deleted the corrupted cluster files - this information gave me a good starting point for diagnosing the root cause. I've seen the same problem on a few dozen drives, having dealt with thousands of drives since the 80's. When I installed the floppy drive, the power cord "popped" when plugged into the floppy drive. After a simple R/W test, I found that my first guess about the power supply issue was correct. When the cable was removed, the plastic wire finger holder came loose because it tore and then broke. I used a nylon tie to ensure the power cord was secure. After many hardware tests over several months, the drive still works great. There are no more spelling mistakes. I bought the drive knowing it was likely to have diagnostic issues (low price) and consider it a great purchase. Since the Amazon tech didn't realize there was a real problem with this drive, I'm deducting a star.
