UPdate: Added pictures of the zip tie holding the power connector to the hard drive. This was a returned or damaged item, many clusters show as bad. In fact, almost the entire drive was difficult to see due to old deleted files that I recovered so I wouldn't be overwhelmed by any problem. I use a drive to store captured video from my Blue Iris security cameras. This high-capacity drive can store many months of motion-activated recordings.

Very easy to install, works, no noise as far as I can hear and seems fine in general. I've never used surveillance discs before, let's see how they work. So far no problems.

This drive is now making a terrible noise. Very bad. Not advertised as noisy over time. It's been quiet since I bought it, but last week it started making noise. It's not the drive, it's the fan in the case that the drive is in. So just unplug the fan in the case is ok with the drive. Excellent large capacity drive.

Ordered 4TB but too loud. I quickly sent it back and exchanged it for 6TB. When the 6TB arrived I was dismayed to say the least that the drive wasn't in anti-static packaging like the 4TB was when it arrived. 6 TB installed with no problems. However loud. Not as strong as 4 TB, but still loud. From 15 feet away and over a running humidifier, it sounds like a teletypewriter or a gremlin chewing nuts. I wonder if they sent me a used one? I installed this in a mirrored RAID 1 enclosure with a Seagate NAS drive. The combination works flawlessly, although this drive is only used to store documents and media, which isn't a particularly difficult task.
