
First, let me explain that I am the pickiest rice lover. I don't like overcooked or broken rice. Each grain must be whole and cooked al dente. As an Asian, I'm too cheap to buy my mom's $300 rice cooker. Instead I used InstaPot and any other multifunctional rice cooker, but I had to unplug the appliances whenever I saw the rice steaming or they would set the bottom on fire. I've tried this device with calrose, jasmine, sticky brown rice, and basmati rice. everything went perfectly. Note that the best rice is when you pour the water just UNDER the first line (crease) on your index finger. The ratio of rice to water is not 1:2. Only those who don't know say that. I'm buying this for family because it's such a good deal!
