Review on Strathmore 298 112 Watercolor Press Sheets by Kim Sanchez

This is a great 12 x 12 watercolor notepad

This is a great 12 x 12 watercolor notepad to be lifted or scratched off. I know he says he will, but believe me it's not. As long as you know that, you'll be fine with this paper. I have used Strathmore paper and Arches paper for years and it has held up great but please note these are student quality and not professional grade sheets. I mainly use it for quick gift watercolors, testing new ideas before putting them on professional paper like sheets, testing different effects and at my watercolor parties I do twice a month with my girlfriends. This is a great paper if you are just starting out with watercolor because of the price. I prefer pads as you don't have to worry about gluing them to the board. Removing the design from the substrate after you have painted and dried it is very easy with a spatula or even a butter knife. Make sure your painting is dry before removing it from the support, this will make the painting look stretched and flat.

Pros
  • Art Paper
Cons
  • Slightly torn
