I have this to clean feces in my betta and ghost shrimp tank. I needed something good enough to suck up poo, but this would work and fit in a small 5 gallon aquarium and with a head attachment small enough that my younger ghost shrimp wouldn't get sucked in if I made a mistake , approached one of you. .So far this works very well for its intended purpose. I'm sure this will take a while, but I really like how it works and I want to keep using this type of filter. The suction strength does not change, but is set exactly where I need it. Powerful enough to do a decent job but not powerful enough to clean the entire tank if you try. Although it creates a slight current from the backflowing water, it didn't wash out or scare my fish or shrimp. The noise wasn't loud enough to bother them much.
