I bought these to hold the metal air conditioner filter vent. The small screws holding the gate were broken and I didn't want to spend more than a hundred dollars on a new metal gate (the screws are not sold separately). I only needed one or two, but buying just one cost almost the same price. Strong enough to hold together when the AC fan is cycled on and off and weak enough that I can still open the gate to change the filter. Time to think about what other use cases this could have. I would say they are a bit too strong to use fridge magnets as you might have trouble detaching them if you plug them straight in. Do not throw away the packaging, store it properly as it can damage pacemakers, mechanical watches or other electronic devices.
