The lights go out for the first week.
There is a transparent cover over the LEDs. When it's on, you can see each LED, and when they start to go out, they go out one LED at a time. It looks like a disco ball. The LED will flash for an hour and then eventually turn off. After about 3 months half of the LEDs are not working so I installed a 4ft LED from Hyperikon to replace this setup. I had to rewire my situation for mains voltage (120VAC) versus 12VDC, but it was worth it. I would not buy these devices again.
