Review on Sceptre E325B-QPN168 2560X1440 DisplayPort Monitor with Built-In Speakers, Blue Light Filter, Flicker-Free, Frameless Design - IPS Technology by Carlos Ashan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It was a little scared but still a great monitor.

UPDATE 4: The issue seems to have resolved itself after a few hours. However, but everything is fine. UPDATE 3: Less than a year old and this monitor is having issues. First, the monitor would intermittently flash monochromatic, RGB when going into or out of sleep mode, I had to monitor the screen to return to normal. The monitor was in sleep mode, nothing was touching the PC and sometimes it would light up for no reason, this time it showed up with a bright stripe and something weird like a dot matrix pattern. Too bad he turned into a lemon in just 10 months. Let's see if the warranty covers that. This monitor is AWESOME, but it's not perfect! Update 2: I upgraded to an AMD Radeon RX 6900XT. Here are the settings I use for the monitor. In Radeon Settings under Display and then Custom Color - Custom Color: Enabled - Color Temperature Control: Enabled - Color Temperature: 6500 - Brightness: 48 - Hue: 0 - "Contrast": 72 - Saturation: 142 (You can set this like You want) Settings in the image window itself - Backlight: 40 - Brightness: 20 - Contrast: 51 - Preset: User DCR: Off - Sharpness: 50 Color - Gamma: 2.0 - Hue: 50 - Saturation: 52 - Blue Light Shift: OffSystem - Overdrive: On - Adaptive Sync: OnUPDATE: I seem to have found the perfect settings. Again, there is something of a panel dispersion, so your mileage may vary. Please note that making these changes and enabling Adaptive Sync/G-Sync may corrupt Nvidia color settings. Just move any of the sliders in the desktop color settings and apply to recall. Nvidia Control Panel: In Settings Desktop Color Setting: - Brightness 32 - Contrast 30 - Gamma 1.56 (can be lower if desired) Monitor Settings In Picture Settings: - Backlight 80 - Brightness 20 - Contrast 50 - User Preset - DCR Off . - Full Aspect Ratio - Sharpness 50 - MPRT Off - Multi Window OffPros - Stunning Colors! Colors are reproduced very well, just like OLED. I'm working on my laptop with a 4k OLED screen so I can say for sure if it's closer to OLED or not. - The refresh rate is buttery smooth. It's not too much of a leap for me, having previously used a 144Hz monitor, but there are two additional features that make this refresh rate smoother. - G-Sync support but not officially certified for it. That being said, I tested the Nvidia G-Sync demo and it works! You can turn it on in the Nvidia Control Panel, and while the difference isn't huge, it does have a smoother impact on gameplay overall. - Response time is fast which makes playing FPS games like Destiny and Doom so enjoyable. It's like gliding on a polished floor covered in butter and oil lol. Be sure to enable Overdrive for this to work. - The size! When diving, it comes down to 32 inches - resolution. I went from 1080p (2560x1080) ultrawide and didn't think the jump to 1440 would be that big, but EVERYTHING looks sharp, clean and crisp, especially games. - Price! At $270 (at time of purchase and excluding sales tax) this is a high-end monitor at a low price! Disadvantages - brightness. O brightness! This thing is too damn bright to do any good. I'm trying to find a good balance in configurations between Nvidia control panel and monitor settings, but haven't found any yet. The black color is too dark. I'm still fiddling with the settings, but in games or movies where there are dark areas it's a bit dark and difficult to see detail even with the brightness turned up. - The backlight LEDs are not bright enough to reflect off the wall. They might not be, so I just turned them off. When I find the perfect settings I'll share them, but be aware of the panel differences so your mileage may vary.
