Review on 🔧 Retractable Workbench Caster Kit – SPACEKEEPER by Doug Hawkins

Too bad I didn't see them many years ago. weeks ago. I replaced some of the smaller casters with 5 inch tall casters (front swivel, rear non-swivel) that didn't bind. Bad idea. Bought them and replaced the castors with these, mounted according to the sketch. Please note one of the attached photos contains all the instructions you will receive. I added a note that might be helpful to you. Things to note: 1) 1.57 inch size should be 40mm but is actually flexible. The closer to the bottom of your leg you set them, the more lift you get. When I convert my saw into a work station (2) The locking nuts that hold the rollers are 19mm - get a 19mm ratchet and make life easier 3) The included smaller wrench that holds the roller while you tightening the nut should be aligned so that the handle is directly over the pressure lever. Try it from the side, and you'll secure the key in place. 4) Raise the corner a bit if you can to make the wheel easier to raise and lower. They will likely last longer if you do this too. 5) The caster likes to run after the object they are supporting. Watch out for bumps or indentations in the floor, when you roll the depression with the pressure lever with your foot behind the roller (and the depression in front of the foot), the lever wants to hang and bend under your feet. Be careful with surfaces that are not flat enough. They seem a little fragile but others seem happy with them so I gave it a try. For $30 I put 2 on the table saw and 2 on the router table. This is absolutely crucial for improving the "shop" environment in my garage, so I'll update this as I learn more.
