Review on 🌊 Pennington Aquagarden Universal Fountain Pump: Perfect for Garden Fountains, Water Features, Aquaponics & Hydroponics – 75-150 Gallons, Up to 5’4” Pumping Height by Marcela Taylor

For a number of years I have been tending garden ponds to attract frogs and salamanders and provide them with a spawning ground. I stacked two of these on top of each other to provide overflow in heavy rain. One for 100 gallons, the other for just over 125 gallons. I have purchased several of these pumps over the years, not to create a large jet of water like many do, but simply to filter ponds. I've found that these types of pumps (and there are other manufacturers) usually last a few years, maybe a little longer. I only change when they fail. The pump in the larger of the two garden ponds was in need of replacement when I spotted it among the Revain Vine listings. I saw that it was the right size, filtering from 75 to 150 gallons. per hour, with a maximum flow rate of 158 gallons per hour. Perfect for my use. I already had various essays and extensions; These devices fit 1/4" or 1/2" fittings. I went with a fitting and a 1/2" extension. I wanted the fountain spray to be low so the water wouldn't overflow from the pond, but high enough for the birds to drink from, which they often do do (so far since there's something to sit on across the pond) As expected, the pump works like a charm.One thing I've learned over the years is to pump into a strainer to prevent tadpoles and salamanders from being sucked into the suction port and dying, which unfortunately happened in the past Sieving prevents this, although occasional cleaning may be required as leaves and debris eventually clog the inlet valve. A simple hose spray quickly eliminates this chore. Nice pump that does exactly what I ordered it to do. I don't know how this pump would work in a smaller well but e There is no reason why it shouldn't work well for its intended purpose. I am very pleased to receive this item from the Vine program.
