Review on Inkbird Automatic Preservation Stainless Indicator by Tiffany Williams

Great vacuum sealer with small dimensions!

I have several InkBird products and am very satisfied with all of them. This vacuum sealer is no exception! I have had the FoodSaver for several years now and it has always disappointed me. There never seemed to be enough air coming out of the sacks. The compaction function is also very frustrating. Half the time I would have to double seal to keep the bags airtight. Also, it was quite bulky and I had to keep it in a closet. I have a fairly small house with limited storage so it took up very valuable space. Let me tell you about the new InkBird vacuum sealer! This thing totally blew my mind! First off, it's about 1/4 the size of the FoodSaver! It's worth it for me for that alone. But the function of this thing is way better than the FoodSaver! As soon as I unpacked it was clear to me that I HAD to try it on something. I had some fresh ginger root in the fridge so I thought this would be a good test. Wow, that thing really pulls a vacuum! And the filling is absolutely perfect! The seal was also perfect in "dry" mode (shorter heating cycle). I've always had to run my FoodSaver in "Wet" mode (longer heating cycle) just to get a seal that lasted 60% of the time. That being said, I haven't tried it on anything wet yet. Since it creates such a large vacuum, I'm a little concerned that it will draw liquid from the meat into the sealing area. BUT the sealing feature works so well on "dry" that I feel like it seals well on "wet" even if some liquid gets into the sealing area. And if not, I usually just make a paper towel "dam" if you like and place it between the food and where the seal will be. I'll update my review once I've tried it on wet food like beef or chicken. But honestly I'm so happy with everything else about this sealant so far that it doesn't bother me at all and I wouldn't even give a star if I have to keep using my "dams". EDIT: I've since tried it with pork. Chops and wet setting worked great! Little did I know that the wet setting also reduces the vacuum generated AND increases the sealing time/heat! And just as I predicted, even if some liquid got into the sealing zone, this block would heat up enough to seal it with ease. Absolutely beautiful seals every time! 5 stars across the board. Keep it up InkBird! Your products are always very affordable and the quality far exceeds my expectations considering the price.
