Good Looking and Easy to Install

They fit perfectly under our kitchen cabinets. It took me a little time to figure out the connectors (they are clamshell type). I hid the transformer in a closet, cut off the plug and routed the cord to an outlet to hide it. I used 18 gauge tubing wire when I had to hop past the sink and stove (wire in a wall that doesn't have cabinets to hide the wire. We're remodeling so I can put holes in the wall to route the wires through). I used Zitrades waterproof 2 pin connectors, halved them so I have a connector on one end and a pair of wires on the other end to connect to the lamp cord (using butt connectors). Once I had the wires in the wall the rest of the installation was easy and I was done in a couple of hours with not a single wire showing. I agree with one of the other reviewers about using a sharp knife to cut through the light, a single edge razor blade on a wood scraper worked well for me. In the evening it looks beautiful. In fact, we're starting to only use them to light up the kitchen at night, when we need light but don't need a full ceiling light. The dimmer makes it easy to get just the right amount of light for what you want. The only real downside I experienced was the adhesive. As others have pointed out, it doesn't stick well unless the surface you're attaching it to was really smooth (laminate might be the only common surface in the kitchen it sticks to). I used 3M double sided clear tape which is really sticky and sticks well to the wood bottom of my cabinets. Dots of hot glue every few inches would probably work too. Overall, this was a pretty minor issue compared to how good the final product looks.

Pros
  • ❀ Easy to Install----RGB strips with self-adhesive tape on the back are safe and easy to use on a dry, clean and flat surface. Clean cement and dust, keep dry before sticking.
Cons
  • Nothing here
