My home in Southern California faces west, and during the summer months it gets incredibly hot in the west-facing rooms, including the dining room, living room, master bedroom, and guest bedroom. The rest of the house is also heated. As we live on the beach we don't have central air conditioning which I plan to replace soon. In the meantime, however, I figured I'd give this movie a try to beat the heat. I tried it out in the master bedroom as it was the most important room to me and I was amazed at the difference in temperature since I stuck the film on my sliding glass door. I installed it myself, which wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be (see helpful YouTube videos). When I held the foil to the door, I felt a very noticeable change in temperature on my face. I was surprised! I then stuck the rest of the film to my bedroom windows and was again amazed at how much cooler the room temperature was even with the windows closed! I immediately ordered more of this film for every window in my home and am very pleased with the reduction in heat from my windows. I don't have air conditioning, but now my living room window air conditioner and bedroom portable air conditioner don't have to work as hard as they used to because of this "window insulation." And the privacy it offers during the day is amazing too! I live a few blocks from the beach and I have a lot of foot traffic in front of my house. Now I have energy efficiency and privacy at the same time. I can't be happier!
