Essential Amino Acid for Leaky Gut Syndrome

I can't say enough good things about this product. First, I use many Source Naturals products and in my experience they are always of high quality at a very reasonable price. Now about why I take this supplement. I am working on recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome caused by Leaky Gut and Gut Dysbiosis (a serious Candida infection in recent years). I read that people take 15-20g of it daily to heal the gut. I started taking it on an empty stomach before meals and the effects changed my life; And no, I'm not being dramatic. It turns out that skeletal muscle glutamine can be depleted by up to 50% during times of stress (maybe even more based on some stats I've read). The body needs glutamine to fuel immune cells and repair tissues; the liver needs glutamine for detoxification, etc. So the body grabs the glutamine it needs from skeletal muscle. Although the body is able to produce glutamine from other amino acids in the diet, during times of prolonged stress (such as chronic infection or illness) diet simply cannot provide enough of it. That was definitely the case in my case. I seem to eat and eat all day but it's never enough for all the repairs going on in my body and I still don't have the energy. It's frustrating. This product changed that. I wasn't miraculously healed or anything but it has certainly made a huge difference in my quality of life as I continue to recover. Now I have way more energy, way less muscle pain, fewer digestive issues and fewer post-meal allergies. I can sleep through the night without waking up from hypoglycemia, and I no longer wake up with muscle pain and fatigue. In short, I feel a lot better. Of course, I can't speak for everyone, but in my experience, I recommend taking glutamine for anyone working on recovery from a chronic illness. browse articles from academic journals online; Many studies have been conducted, particularly regarding its effectiveness in healing and protecting the gut.
