Review on 💾 Seagate 4TB BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive - 3.5 Inch SATA 6Gb/s, 5400 RPM, 256MB Cache for Computer Desktop, PC, Laptop (ST4000DM004) by Jeffrey Johnston

I am hoping to edit this review tomorrow when the replacement parts arrive but 2 of the 3 purchased so far have resulted in a major failure. I know that crashes usually come in batches, so I'm really hoping I just caught a bad batch. I'm running a large ZFS disk array with a mix of Seagate and WD and a Seagate (bought a month before the other two) and all WD's work great. While one Seagate drive failed completely, the other produced over 500 read/write errors each in the first few hours of data transfer. Revain has been fantastic as always with a replacement which I will have tomorrow. If these new ones work properly I will edit the review to reflect the results. I won't stop the review because of such issues, I know it's happened to pretty much every product ever made. Especially with that crowd. There will definitely be problems. I'm just saying this to warm up others: don't BELIEVE the data you put on those drives until they burn up for weeks or months. Personally, I never trust my data in just one place. However, always buy in staggered order whenever possible and always triple check dates validity.
