I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

Over the past month, I've relied on it constantly. I recommend either WD or Toshiba. I couldn't be happier with the decision. It's a pretty peaceful ride. I put it in the custom case I got from UGREEN, and now I'm pleased as punch.

Pros
  • Silent machinery At 182 MB/s, USB 3.0 is lightning fast.

High-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

In general, I believe that it is a suitable model for an average PC user because the capacity is substantial, the speed is satisfactory, and the cost is within a reasonable range. Has pros: Large quantities sold at a discount. The volume of permanent overwriting is 55 TB / year, which is not very impressive but is quite adequate for the storing of files. It goes without saying that I wouldn't do it if there was a current that was always moving. There is a series of ironwolf and skyhawk that can

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

They dragged it on flights, and dropped it on the floor, and chased it in the tail and mane in one very warm country for several years so that the plastic of the case could not be touched, and for years 2 after all of the ordeals, being taken out of plastic, he quietly and peacefully ended his life in his home NAS. This was an old portable 2TB Seagate that had served with moving for 6 years. Which, in my perspective, is a really commendable accomplishment. I hope that this one, which I…

Pros
  • When tested, read and write speeds of 190/180 when the temperature was chilly (37-39 degrees Fahrenheit), which is cheaper than competitors' offerings.
Cons
  • No, not for my purposes.

In addition to the 2 terabyte solid-state drive that is already installed, I needed a disk to store files (samples and libraries for vsti). Mini-ITX form factor for the system unit; extremely low noise. As a result, a solid-state drive with a capacity of 4 terabytes (Tb) was also a top priority; however, you can purchase four HDDs of the same kind for the same price. Because of this, I made the decision to test out the hard disk drive (HDD) first. I chose the Seagate ST4000DM004, which has two…

Second-rate goods, I wont buy any more.

guys, The disc ended up being a total letdown, which has left me very perplexed because it has such a stellar rating both in the shop and on Amazon. I saw some reviews that stated that it is not very trustworthy, but it is still quite reliable. After two hours of use, he passed away; to be more specific, after two hours, I understood that the disk works, but I don't understand how. I started the diagnostic process with the utilities, and things started to become more evident to me. see…

Pros
  • dies quickly
Cons
  • right out of the packaging and onto the bedblocks

After 20 years of using Seagates, I finally ran into a faulty disc. Neither the firm nor the assembly workers are to blame. This disc just broke. The shop is where I made the purchase. There, replacing something was time-consuming, difficult, and expensive. Then I decided to call Seagate's customer support line. The DVD labeled "does not work" was skipped. The receiver estimated a two-week wait time. And here was the picture of a corporation that always puts its best foot forward and provides

Pros
  • Because of my unique circumstances, I have relied on SEAGATE wheels for the past two decades, and they have never failed me down. Now I have a fantastic, noiseless 4 terabyte disk. My reply contains an enlightening tale for those who have second thoughts about purchasing CDs from Seagate.
Cons
  • There are no defects in this product.

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

Barracudas have never failed me before (although the WD is now crumbling for the second time, and I hope this hard drive will not break this beautiful tradition), and I was glad to find one in the face of a problem when I needed a hard drive for a file dump to replace the fallen WD green. It's fairly quiet and gets the job done quickly enough, but the loudness isn't great because it's just a regular hard drive and not even a hybrid.

Pros
  • -quiet; -low-priced (in comparison to the market); - a great quantity;

A high-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

The first is a speed of 230 MB/s when writing. A total of 2.5 hours were spent recording. The speed dropped to 184 mb/s at the end of the recording. 2) The disk's tiny circuitry board can result in costly repairs. As long as the value of Hardware ECC Recovered is equal to the Raw Read Error Rate, it is typical for Seagate disks to have both of these metrics increase over time. When compared to the previous model at 1TB and below, the values for this disk expand relatively slowly.

Pros
  • Got 2 CDs. 1) Two terabytes for $4026 is a steal if one terabyte costs $25,000. The second tidbit: 2) 256 MB of cache. At 7200 rpm, it's excellent for gaming. Thirdly, extremely lightweight and slender. 4) No significant increase in temperature from 39 degrees was seen during the experiments. (5) Completely silent during use.
Cons
  • Not yet known

It would appear that all newly released Seagate products with a "004" in their model number employ shingled magnetic recording (SMR). When data that has already been recorded needs to be additionally overwritten, a delay may be incurred during this form of recording. However, an expanded cache should be able to compensate for this delay. In just under a day's time, almost 4 terabytes' worth of data was recorded for me. Throughout its history, SMR technology has been implemented in disks that…

Pros
  • The low cost, high storage density (it can store 4 terabytes of data on just two pancakes), lack of intense heating and noise, and small thickness and weight of the case are all benefits of this product.
Cons
  • a slow rate of writing. The manufacturer specifies a low annual read/write load resource, which cannot exceed 55 TB per year (55 / 4 TB = 13.7; this means that you cannot rewrite the entire disk more than 13-14 times every year).

3 out of 4 were bad

1 star is the number of discs that worked. DON'T MISS OTHER BAD REVIEWS! I ordered 4 and had to return 3 of them. 3 out of 4 hard drives shipped had over 8500 bad blocks on each hard drive. A parity/consistency check before building my NAS found errors on 3 drives. Using two different Synology 4-bay NAS (RS816 and DS416), both found the same thing. Revain has an amazing RMA/return/replacement process for them and I was able to have the discs shipped next day which was nice. It has taken me a…

Reliable and Affordable

We recently had a hard drive failure when it crashed unexpectedly and it was estimated that out of nowhere we had about 37% of the resources left. We just got our hands on another one and cloned it before all hell broke loose. The new drive worked well and we ordered another exactly the same drive (this one to replace the one we had in stock in anticipation of the next big moment). These discs tend to be quite reliable and last a long time. They're not always the fastest drives as we have hard…

More than 4 gigabytes of bad sectors out of the box.

I saved money to buy parts for custom assembly. I bought this HD in December. There were problems with the installation. The hard drive has more than 4 GB of unused space and needs to be partitioned. Since I had to buy piece by piece, my warranty has expired. I understand it's crap when it comes to computer parts, but it has to be a brand new HD. Seagate has a pretty good reputation when it comes to HD, so that surprised me. I will no longer buy parts here, I will use my local Micro Center. At…

Updated on 02/18/2019 see below.

bought two for a mirrored pair. At least one of them was still working after 60 days, it's RMA. At least the RMA process was easy enough. About 50% satisfied with a whole. I'm hoping one was the worst of the two and the new one holds up, but we'll see. Received the RMA device back and now, after a whopping 10 days in use, the RMA replacement has also bitten the proverbial big one. I've lived by the "skip the Seagate drives" motto for a long time, but I was gifted a 3TB hard drive and it seemed…

50% infant mortality and unreliable compatibility. Not recommended.

I bought 2 of these devices. One failed in less than a week. First, it started dropping out of Windows Explorer periodically. It then went into the infamous "click" mode and kept reinitializing itself. Eventually, it disappeared completely, effectively blocking the computer from starting. It's not at all impressive that a drive that's only used for backups every few days can't last a week. The second disk (so far) continued to work. I used it in an external USB enclosure as an extra backup…

Attention buyers: SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording)

These discs are cost effective because they use SMR technology, which slightly overlaps the disc's tracks to increase capacity. The cost of overwriting is that when you overwrite a portion of the disk, you have to overwrite large areas of the disk, resulting in a significant and painful loss in write performance. My son bought two for use in a desktop mirror for data security that Seagate needs to recognize as a regular desktop configuration (ie not a NAS system). Shame on them for selling…

Used 6 drives in the last 2+ years with no problems

Large cache size makes these drives good despite low platter speeds. I've used four of these in a ZFS raid NAS backup device over the past two years with NO PROBLEM. I have two others on memory desktops that also had no problems. Arriving in DOA depends on both your courier/delivery company and Seagate's manufacturing. In the wrapped form, a blow to the side or bottom of the carton is easily absorbed. Any hits in the corners of the diagonal vectors transfer the hit to the drive. There's not…
