Almost died, no exaggeration.

I almost lost my life using this product. (This is not an exaggeration and I made sure to wait a week before submitting a review to be more fair and not if anger fueled my words.) While vacationing in Mexico last week my husband and I decided to try snorkeling to go. We checked the weather this week and picked the calmest day and asked the beach staff for a great spot to try as the resort's beach is a few miles long. After settling into the water and making sure our snorkels and fins were secure, we began exploring the shallow reef. After about two minutes, the bottom part of my mask sort of collapsed or wrinkled and started filling with water. After climbing to the surface to adjust, I also found that part of the snorkel tube sometimes prevented me from breathing. Now I can't see anything because the mask is full of water and I can't breathe. I get up, drain the water, adjust the mask and try again. After about a second the mask starts to fill with water, this time including around my mouth and nose as I try to breathe in and I try my best not to panic as I try to get up. Meanwhile, the boat moved sideways, causing decent-sized waves to approach the shore. As I try to get back on my feet to stand securely, the waves make it difficult for me to keep my balance. I try to catch my breath again, but I inhale water. I try to remove my mask, but lose my balance and fall underwater again. Finally, I try to take off my mask underwater and float to the surface to catch my breath. The husband sees the struggle and luckily comes to the rescue. When I struggled to get my mask to work and then just take it off, I was pulled to where there were sharper rocks and where it was slippery. Between trying to catch my breath and the waves of the boat I couldn't get back on my feet and now I'm tripping and tripping over sharp rocks. My husband does his best to help me get ashore and tries to put on our snorkeling gear and stay on our feet. He then steps on the sea urchin and lets go as a wave hits me, sending me back under the water. We finally make it to the beach and find our cabin where I cry uncontrollably and try my best to calm down. I almost died! It CAN stand shoulder deep in water. Not deeper. I did everything I had to do to order a mask, including getting the measurement right. This product made me dread snorkeling again but luckily my husband convinced me to give it another try before we flew home. I used the standard snorkel gear I borrowed from my mom and the result was much better. Don't waste your money on this product and any item you buy, test it thoroughly in a shallow pool. If I did, I would leave my two young daughters almost motherless.
