I've been a long time figure skater and an occasional figure skating coach. I usually only go where custom or custom boots and high quality skids are used. So when my 6 year old needed new skates I had to decide whether to invest or go with modest boots and a blade. Fortunately, unlike when we started, the less expensive skates and blades are of great quality and comfort for the price. These are great skates for beginners, the blade while not fabulous is ok especially if cared for properly. I would say they are good for any skater as long as they don't start doing simple jumps (waltz/pig) or (two foot/scratch spin) and simple three spins. is tight on the leg - no room to grow,
