Not sure about old reviews and UI/software issues. Worked great right out of the box with a great full featured browser interface and lots of usage data. Set it up directly from the browser interface without using the Ubiquiti controller software. As another reviewer pointed out, use the setup wizard and tweak it when you're done. PoE 2 and 4 pairs, all 5 ports can be software enabled as a switch, dual WAN with traffic balancing and failover and fanless. What else can you expect for this price? This router is a professional device and comes at a consumer price. Combined with Ubiquiti's mesh hotspots, this is an amazing opportunity to host a concert throughout the building without the need for other devices. One note: this is a software bridge switch, not a chipset, so you're sacrificing some speed. Only the X Edge has a chipset switch. Also, the master initially only bridges eth1 and 2, so you have to configure eth 3-5 for the bridge yourself. If you are unfamiliar with the terminology used in my review, please stick to the consumer gear in the big stores as you will only be disappointed with Ubiquiti products. They expect a minimum level of network topology knowledge.
