Bike carrier for three bikes is not very heavy. It came assembled and easily attached to the trunk of my car (Nissan Tiida 2008). At first I thought maybe it wasn't strong enough and the bike would shake at the back, but I was wrong. All you need is to fasten the straps very tightly and that's it! Tips: - Use a piece of padding, fabric or other soft material in each hook that attaches to your car. The instructions state that the hooks can damage the car's paintwork. So I decided to avoid that and cover the hooks with a homemade "hook sock" which still works just as well and protects my car. You can use the remaining hanging strap from the top hook to secure the front wheel to keep it from moving and falling into the car and this also helps balance the bike on the stand. - I have a ladies cruiser bike with a fixed rack, I had to bypass the rack mount but I did really well and the bike was completely secure and didn't move at all! I can wholeheartedly recommend this work stand.
