I first bought this pan about a year ago. The quality of the pan is superb, especially since we don't handle it very carefully (we use a metal fork etc.) However, as mentioned in another review, its base isn't wide enough to make it unstable in our range, but this is my husband's favorite pan so I have Bought this pan again when it came time to replace the old pan.This time you can make the pan wider and it no longer swings in range.I was so happy that OXO fixed the design issue so I got another one Bought to replace the old model which is basically a fire hazard Unfortunately this time came again with a smaller stand so I sent it back I have a Noticed there was a different model number on the bottom of the pallet. It was 4198 for the older model and 6198 for the improved model. The actual base is about 0.5 inches wider, which is a big difference. If the pan in your area doesn't wobble, then it's a solid pan that will last. I just want to buy another pot of a wider (newer?) model.
